I finished reading this book a couple days ago. It's the second time I read it. It's a sci-fi novel written by Iain Banks and first published in 1990. It's the third novel in the Culture series. It's a very good book, probably one of the more popular Culture novels.
If you're a sci-fi fan and you have not read the Culture series, then you should because it's very good. The series is about an advanced galactic civilization that tries to help other civilizations in the galaxy.
I started reading the Culture novels around 2010. And then a couple years later Iain Banks died. Sad. RIP.
