I lie half awake pondering reality while catching myself snore. I need to pee badly but that discomfort does not yet rival my slumber. My hand clutches both phone and Kindle, I am glad one is off and muster strength to turn the other on for a read.
Was that me snoring again? How embarrassing, a companion happens to be dozing nearby.
At this juncture I check the forecast on my smartphone, one of the few apps I allow myself to use. The storms are stopping and the sun will come out.
My bladder beckons more firmly and as I rise to drain it, my partner mumbles, "Can you put away the cookie batter"?
An inconsequential faux pas.
